Welcome to Ab Workouts Basics.
My name is Michelle West. I'm not a fitness guru though I do offer
quite a number of specific exercises to help you get those flat abs
you've been dreaming about. My background is in clinical psychology (I
earned my master's degree quite a few years ago) and nutrition (college
level training here, too).
There are three areas you need to focus on when trying to change to way
you look: physical exercises, proper nutrition, and how you think about
what you're trying to do.
Using proper technique while exercising and eating the right amounts
and kinds of foods are important, but let's face it . . . you can learn
most of the things you need to know about technique and nutrition from
any good physical fitness program.
What you'll get here -- that you won't get from other programs that
help you change your physical appearance -- are the specific steps to
take to help condition your mind to allow you to succeed.
Maybe you've tried other programs in the past and stuck with it for
only a week or two. Maybe even a month or more. But the exercises were
hard and you'd get winded easily and it just became harder and harder
to force yourself to put aside more pleasereable activities and make
the time to actually do them. After a while, getting started became the
hardest part of doing the exercises. -- to the point where you didn't
even want to start any more.
You didn't fail! Your program failed you by not first preparing your
mind to let you succeed.
